Hip and Knee Pain in One of Phoenix's Most Active Resort Communities

The Biltmore area is one of Phoenix’s most desirable addresses — a resort-adjacent neighborhood where the golf courses are legendary, the canal path is steps away, and Piestewa Peak is visible from the fairways. It’s a community built around an active lifestyle, and that makes hip and knee pain especially disruptive. When the joint that carries you through a round at the Biltmore Golf Club or along the Arizona Canal starts failing, the rhythm of Biltmore life changes fast. Simple things — walking Biltmore Fashion Park, getting out on the course, meeting friends for dinner — become painful calculations. Dr. Brandon Gough is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon based in Scottsdale who specializes in minimally invasive, robotic-assisted hip and knee replacement. He has performed more than 8,000 procedures since 2013. Most of his patients walk the same day as surgery and go home within 24 hours.

When Hip or Knee Pain Takes Over Biltmore Life

The Biltmore lifestyle is active by nature. The golf courses demand 18 holes on foot. The canal path invites daily walks. Piestewa Peak draws hikers year-round. Hip and knee pain doesn’t just affect your body here — it affects your access to the lifestyle you chose when you chose this neighborhood. When pain from osteoarthritis, joint damage, or a failed previous replacement reaches the point where non-surgical treatments are no longer helping, joint replacement surgery may be the right step forward. Dr. Gough’s approach — robotic precision, muscle-sparing technique, same-day discharge — is designed to minimize the gap between surgery and getting back to Biltmore life.
